The paintings here come from Burton Dodge’s photorealist practice across three media — oil on canvas, acrylic on cloth, and pastel. Subjects center on the open Atlantic, the surf of the Northern California coast, and the weathered boardwalk architecture of the New Jersey shore.

Scale varies from intimate 16 × 20 jetty studies up to canvases over nine feet across. Each work carries the same intent: a piece of reality isolated, magnified, and rendered larger than life. Further pieces are in progress and will be added as they are completed.
